Confused about where to get some familiar/comforting foods

I live in Suzhou, and while I've had most of my questions answered regarding quite a few things, but food has been a difficult subject. Keep in mind I have no car or bike and the nearest supermarket is about 1.5km away on foot. That said, I don't know what the vast majority of the food in that supermarket even is, and the nearest Walmart or Sam's Club are definitely outside walking distance (4km). I can always ask employees for help but I feel that's a bit of a gamble without knowing whether anyone speaks English (I speak very little Chinese). I'd rather not try to survive only off American restaurants nearby (Domino's, McDonalds, Starbucks, etc) since it would be really unhealthy. Any suggestions on Chinese foods/products to look out for in the stores, or maybe food delivery services for the area? I'm having issues finding info on it elsewhere.

If you were to speak/read some Chinese I think you\'re in for a whole new food world.

The DianPing app has millions of eateries, which you can zoom in on by location/style/ratings; (Dian Ping means comment and rate in Chinese)

E-Le-Ma app is for home delivery, again you have millions of choices. (E le ma means are you hungry)

These are the everyday apps used by us.

If you like what you see on DianPing you can visit the restaurant. Hope this helps!
